The Founder Has Entered the Conversation
Published: September 2026 | THE CONVERSATION
There's a reason we named our blog The Conversation. Not The Lookbook. Not The Drop. A conversation implies two people — and for a long time, only one of us was in the room.
That changes now.
The reel you may have already seen — the one with the yellow chair, the lamps, and a man in a black tee speaking directly to the camera — that was me. Quintin. Founder of TNB Shop Store. And if it felt different from what you've come to expect from us, that's intentional.
Wear the Story. Meet the Storyteller.
Every piece in our collections starts the same way: with a character, a point of view, or a story worth telling. Les Étoiles Noires. Queer Joy Is Resistance. Black Doesn't Apologize. These aren't slogans pulled from a trend report. They come from a specific creative lineage — from the intersections of Black identity, LGBTQ+ culture, fashion journalism, and a decade of standing in the wings of some of the most moving theatrical productions I've witnessed.
TNB Shop Store is a year old — and in that year, it's grown considerably beyond where it started. What began as branded logo pieces has expanded into full collections with distinct identities, editorial names, and stories worth wearing. I came to this as a curator, not a manufacturer, not a logo machine, but someone who asks: what should a garment mean? What should it feel like to pull something over your head and know, viscerally, that it was chosen for you?

It was time for you to know who was doing the choosing.
Why You'll See More of Me — and Why It Looks the Way It Does
I'll be direct with you, because that's what this brand has always demanded.
I had Bell's palsy when I was three years old. It left its mark on my face — one I see clearly, even when others may not notice it. For a long time, stepping in front of a camera felt like negotiating a relationship with my own reflection. So I found another way in: AI-generated images of myself that let me show up visually on my own terms, without the vulnerability of a lens I can't fully control.
My voice, though — that's always been mine. You'll hear it in every piece of audio, every reel, every future introduction. I will always use my own voice.
This isn't a workaround. It's a creative choice that happens to be true to who I am. And for a brand built on the belief that what you wear is an act of communication — that clothing is costume, and costume is character — it felt right to extend that logic to how I show up in the world.
More Is Coming
This video was the beginning of a series. I want you to know the collections the way I know them — not just the names, but the why behind each one. The character studies that shaped Le Salon Noir. The history that lives inside Gay Icon. The specific kind of defiance that makes Black Doesn't Apologize necessary.
And I want you to know me — the person behind the curation. What shaped my eye. Why this brand exists. Who it's for.
Follow along. The conversation is just getting started.
